The First Close is a curated evening co-hosted by VNTR Boston and TopContenders Network, sponsored by M&T Bank, bringing together a high-signal mix of LPs, established fund managers, and emerging GPs for a candid evening on what it actually takes to build early funds in today's market.

Agenda

Join us for a roundtable gathering of active VC investors, family offices, business angels, and crypto investors. We will discuss the latest trends and co-investment opportunities.

The format is deliberately intimate — no large panels, no broadcast presentations. The evening opens with introduction to VNTR and brief sponsor and partner introductions, followed by an anchor presentation by J. Skyler (Sky) Fernandes (Founder & GP, VU Venture Partners) and a fireside conversation pairing Skyler with a leading LP voice, a round of structured one-minute investor introductions, and open networking. Every person in the room both gives and receives.
